The heroine of the novel is a very young thea bright, who suddenly finds herself in a completely unknown world which, for some ways, is very close to her own.
She had only dreamt of the place as a child, a place where everyone could live in peace and in serenity with others and themselves.
Thea cannot understand why she sometimes seems to live in this world that often scares her. But with the help of the charming lieutenant nathan delphi, she will be able to find herself and discover the true story of her family.
In fact, the mystery that will accompany us through the reading of the story revolves around the secrets that every family wants to keep hidden.
The story talks about Blind, a cosplayer described by her agent to have red, heavy eyes. Soon enough, she becomes very popular in the Otaku world and related shows and fairs, and only to take a glimpse of her, people are willing to pay a lot of money. although she seems very confident, Blind feels empty inside. the encounter with her manager, who will show himself to her in a different way than to the rest of the world, and with two other boys, fred and eric, with beautiful black hair and blue eyes but with a cold heart who will hunt her dreams, will help her find and understand her true self.
We will find ourselves in a faraway land, distant hundreds of years from now, where the earth, anguished by wars, is not the one we are used to know.
Blake, the hero of our story, seems like a normal boy, living in a traditional neighbourhood where, though, he has no family.
When Blake meets Luce, he will discover his true nature. The boy holds inside a power that no human mind can comprehend, and he will find himself in the middle of the next battle,
together with selene, morte, hecate and sam. he will be forced to find out his true origins and he will fight, at the same time, with the most hidden part of himself, finding out what he had forgotten.
An emotional story that will make us think.
Jacopo Melio lives his life fighting for human and civil rights: he speaks for those who have no voice, for those who feel like they are fighting an already lost battle and for those who are to afraid
to just stand up to their rights. All this by simply using the words “liberty”, “equality”, “justice” and “dignity».
He started changing the rules by simple coming into this world. Iacopo is 25 years old and suffers from the Escobar syndrome, a genetic disease so rare that, according to the few studies on the subjects,
manifests itself with so many symptoms to count, but Iacopo’s greatest symptom is his sense of humour.
His only tools being a pen and his wit, and a Facebook page that counts more than 600.000 followers, Jacopo constantly battles against everyday forms of prejudice: those who park in parking spaces for
the disabled thinking they represent a frivolous favoritism, those who believe that a person in a pushchair will remain children forever (let alone having a girlfriend!) and those who take it
for granted that 4 wheels are used to get around, but only in the house.
Faccio salti altissimi is a wonderful example of good writing and humour. It is a book that defends the right to be oneself, with respect for the uniqueness of every single person, overcoming what we
usually define as “normal”, a concept that sees us all alike. But this book is also the story of a young man like many others, with a mind full of dreams and hopes.
